Royston Netball Club was established in 1977 and is a friendly and thriving club with over 40 senior members. We currently have four senior teams and a very busy junior club. We play competitive netball from September to July every year!
We are very lucky to have a team of Level 2 coaches at Royston, led by Tracey Stimson. Tracey has played netball at Royston for many years and is a coach for the North East Herts School Sports Partnership. She is also a scout for the Regional Talent Development Programme. She is assisted by Carol Parcell, a teaching assistant specialising in sport.
We also have a number of Level 1 coaches, including our Club secretary Vanessa Clark, who support the work of our Level 2 coaches. Players are actively encouraged to get involved with coaching, particularly within the junior club.
We are currently embarking on an intensive push to get more umpires qualified and recently held a Young Umpires Course for umpires aged 13-18.
In September 2012 Royston Netball Club was reaccredited as a Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) club. This is recognition of our commitment to good practice in the development of players, coaches and umpires at all levels.
