Royston Netball Club was established in 1977 and is a friendly and thriving club with over 40 senior members. We currently have five senior teams and a very busy junior club. We play competitive netball from September to July every year!
We are very lucky to have a team of four Level 2 coaches, led by Tracey Stimson. Tracey has played netball at Royston for many years and is a coach for the North East Herts School Sports Partnership. She is also a scout for the Regional Talent Development Programme. She is assisted by Jo Moxham, who is also a very talented player and coach. A former England Netball player and captain of the England Team, we are very privileged to be able to share in Jo’s vast experience and expertise. Tracey and Jo have recently been joined by Ellie Harnwell, a PE teacher and Level 2 coach and Carol Parcell, a teaching assistant specialising in sport.
We also have a number of Level 1 coaches, who support the work of our Level 2 coaches. Players are actively encouraged to get involved with coaching, particularly within the junior club.
We have three C award umpires and are currently embarking on an intensive push to get more umpires qualified.
In July 2008 Royston Netball Club was awarded the Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) clubmark status. This is recognition of our commitment to good practice in the development of players, coaches and umpires at all levels. This was successfully renewed in June 2010.
